As promised, HMD Global today has officially launched two new smartphones in Malaysia which come in the form of Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus. Both of these phones were originally launched in China under the Nokia X series.
Known in China as the Nokia X6, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 and equipped with a 5.8-inch Full HD+ 19:9 notched display. The phone also carries 4GB LPDDR4x RAM, 64GB e-MMC 5.1 storage, 16MP + 5MP rear camera, 16MP front camera, and 3060mAh battery.
Launched as the Nokia X5 in China, Nokia 5.1 on another hand is equipped with MediaTek Helio P60, 5.8-inch HD+ display, 3GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage. It also comes standard with 13MP rear camera alongside a 5MP depth sensor and 8MP front camera as well as a 3060mAh battery.
Price-wise, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is available immediately for RM 1149. For the first 2500 customers of Nokia 6.1 Plus, they will also receive an action camera, tempered glass screen protector, and silicon case alongside their purchase.
As for Nokia 5.1 Plus, HMD Global didn’t reveal the phone’s price at the launch event today. Nevertheless, it will be released in our market sometime in mid-October.
