Warner Bros Pictures Group has made a very interesting announcement regarding its films and HBO Max. The gist of it is that, whenever one of its movies premiere in cinemas, they will also be available on HBO Max.
This involves a great number of the company’s films. The list includes Matrix 4, Tom & Jerry, Godzilla vs Kong, Mortal Kombat, The Suicide Squad, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and many more. This will also apply to Wonder Woman 1984, which will be released on 25 December this year.
While this sounds like a resoundingly good deal, there’s obviously a catch. One is that these movies will only be around for a month before they are removed from the HBO Max library. The other is, of course, that HBO Max isn’t a subscription service that’s available here.
Of course, there’s always the chance that these movies also become available on the subscription service that we have locally. If not, then if you really want to catch it while they are new, local cinemas are the only answer. That is, of course, assuming restrictions on them get lifted by then. Naturally, this also depends on the cinemas resuming operations, which isn’t a certainty considering MAFE’s announcement last month.
