ASUS Launches Z590 Motherboards At CES 2021

ASUS has officially announced its new Z590 motherboard lineup, designed to accommodate Intel’s new 11th generation Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs. The new motherboards both envelop and cover all four of the brand’s high-end series.

These include ASUS’ top-of-the-line ROG Maximus XIII, the entire ROG Strix line, TUF Gaming, and its Prime lineup. While technically just a bump up from the last generation Z490, the new Z590 motherboards do come with some upgraded features, including what ASUS says are “beefed-up” VRMs and improved thermal solutions for said component and M.2 SSDs. More importantly, the new motherboards now support the PCIe 4.0 interface, effectively bringing Intel in line with its rival, AMD, and its own X570 chipset.

Other improvements across the board include onboard USB-c 3.2 2×2, up to 10Gb Ethernet and support for Intel’s Wi-Fi 6E. Moreover, some of these motherboards are also supported by a host of AI-powered features, including AI Overclocking, AI Cooling, and AI Networking, to name a few.

At the time of writing, specifics about each of the new Z590 motherboard series are still scarce, but ASUS has said that it will reveal more information about them over the coming weeks. That said, we’ll keep you updated when we get more information about each series.
