One of the highlights of Apple’s WWDC 2017 is the unveiling of iOS 11 which will bring plenty of new features and improvements to iPhone and iPad. However, which of these devices that are able to support the new update? Well, we have the answer right here.
In general, iOS 11 will be available to devices that is equipped with A7 processor or newer. Here is the full list as stated in Apple’s official website:
- iPhone 5s and newer
- All iPad Pro
- All iPad Air
- iPad mini 2 and newer
- 2017 iPad
- iPod Touch 6th generation
That being said, some devices might not be able to support all the features within iOS 11. For example, the much touted ARKit-based augmented reality apps will only support devices with A9 and A10 processors.
Other than that, multi-tasking features such as Dock, app switcher, Split View and Slide Over are meant for iPad. Additionally, certain iPad doesn’t even support Split View mode. Nevertheless, if you own any of these Apple devices, stay tuned for iOS 11 that will come your way later this year.
