Samsung Launches Galaxy Book 2; Features Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 And Gigabit LTE

Samsung has lifted the veil off the successor to last year’s Galaxy Book. The new Samsung Galaxy Book 2 now features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 SoC and high-speed wireless internet option.

Underneath the 2-in-1 design is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 mobile chipset. Thanks to this SoC and built-in gigabit LTE radio, it allows the Galaxy Book 2 to always stay connected to the internet. The screen of the Galaxy Book 2 is also touch-capable and measures 12-inches. It also has a kickstand similar to Microsoft’s Surface devices that allows the devices to lay “almost flat” on a table.

Out of the box, the device runs on Microsoft’s Windows S mode for hassle-free usability, but also includes an upgrade path to full Windows when needed down the road. Users will get 128GB of onboard storage, but only 4GB of RAM. The two USB Type-C connectors should be able to charge the device, with one bearing output support to a high-resolution display.
Samsung promises up to 20 hours of battery life with the Galaxy Book 2, with the addition of Adaptive Charging to provide the device with fast charging. The brand is also throwing in some sweet multimedia tweaks. Including Dolby Atmos and speakers tuned by AKG for true-to-life audio quality.
Users who purchase the Galaxy Book 2 will also get an S-Pen and keyboard cover. Samsung will be selling the Galaxy Book 2 from November onwards for USD999 (~RM4,158). Sadly, there’s still no news for Malaysian availability of the device.
