Boost Payment Link Allows Contactless Payments Without QR Codes

Local e-wallet brand Boost has announced what it calls the Boost Payment Link. As the name suggests, the feature allows merchants to receive payments via a link.

Boost Payment Link serves as an alternative contactless payment option. This will allow mainly cash-based businesses to start adopting cashless payments, but avoid having to invest in a Point-of-Sale or payment terminal. Rather than using QR codes, businesses can send a payment link to customers via SMS, email or messaging apps.

The company says this feature aims to also help business adapt to the current Conditional Movement Control Order period. After all, people are avoiding close interactions, which is not possible for other means of contactless payment, or even cash.

The Boost Payment Link feature is available for all Boost merchants via their Boost Business Account. Businesses can find their payment links from their profile page. These can be shared to customers once the payment amount has been set, using the “share My Business Payment Link” button.
