Apple Launches Worldwide Free Repair Program For iPhone 11 Units Affected By Display Flaw

Apple has recently launched a free repair program for iPhone 11 models that are affected by touch responsiveness issues. For those wondering, the program is also available in Malaysia as made known by the local version of the company’s website.

The issue is present on a number of iPhone 11 units manufactured between November 2019 to May 2020, Apple reveals. It added that the screens on these affected models may stop responding to touch input due to a hardware flaw in the display module.

If by any chance that you own a unit that showcases this symptom, you’re eligible to apply for the free repair program. You may choose to do so by visiting the program’s web page that is provided below and key in your iPhone 11’s serial number. Once validated, you are then required to perform a backup of your unit and a factory reset before delivering it to a local Apple Authorised Service Provider for the free service.

Also, keep in mind that if your iPhone 11 has any physical damage on its display, the company will require you to have it repaired first before submitting the device for the program. Screen damage repair costs are borne by the customer themselves.

Additionally, Apple noted that it will cover affected iPhone 11 for two years after purchase but would not extend its standard warranty coverage. Meanwhile, if you have encountered this issue on your device prior to the program’s announcement and have paid for the repairs, you are eligible to apply for a refund by contacting the company via this link.
