Next-Gen NVIDIA Lovelace GeForce RTX GPU Rumoured To House Up To 18432 CUDA Cores

As PC gamers slowly and steadily get settled in with Ampere and its GeForce RTX 30 series cards, it seems like NVIDIA is wasting no time in getting next-gen GPU architecture, codenamed “Lovelace”, prepped and ready.

While unconfirmed, rumours are already starting to suggest that the top-tier SKU of Lovelace could ship out with as many as 18432 CUDA cores. To put things into perspective, that’s nearly double the number of CUDA cores found on NVIDIA’s current king-of-the-hill, the GeForce RTX 3090. which houses 10496 CUDA cores.

Another rumour by popular Twitter user kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) suggests that the 5nm Lovelace GPU might also ship out with 12 Graphics processing clusters (GPCs), a bump up from the seven GPC clusters fitted in the GA102 Ampere GPU. If this bit of information does ring true, then it’s likely for the top-tier Lovelace GPU to also house up to 72 Texture Processing Clusters (TPCs) and 144 Streaming multi-processors.

Of course, all this information is merely speculation and hearsay and as such, we recommend that you take it with a large grain of salt. That said and assuming that the information is accurate, we could be looking at one powerful beast in the next two years, if we were to follow NVIDIA’s GPU cadence. Who knows, maybe Lovelace will finally enable us to game at 8K resolution, with graphics presets maxxed out.
