Xiaomi Mi 11 Allegedly Seen In The Wild; Pro Variant May Feature A Periscope Camera

If past rumours are accurate, we’ll be expecting Xiaomi to announce its brand new flagship, the Mi 11, sometime this month – with a launch also said to happen in January. As to wondering how the phone would actually look like, it appears that we may not need to wait until the official announcement.

According to several sources, live photos of the Xiaomi Mi 11 have appeared online via Weibo, revealing its rear camera array. Amusingly, even though labeled as “leaked photos” by the uploaders, the images look as if they were planned shots rather than typical sneak shots. But then again, most “leaks” of this category are usually questionable whether it is actually intended or just mere employee carelessness.

Moving on. All of the images mentioned showcase the same Mi 11 model, which is believed to be the standard variant. This version of the phone features a triple camera setup housed in a square island, where two cameras are featured prominently on the left column and a third smaller camera is situated on the right. Sensor specifications are unknown for now, but leakers have shared some information regarding the Pro or Ultra variant’s camera setup in a separate leak.

The higher-end variant of the phone, which was revealed in a supposedly leaked photo of casings for the Mi 11 series, features a quad camera setup. Unlike the standard variant, the Pro or Ultra model’s camera array is arranged vertically with three sensors and one periscope camera. Sources say that this variant comes with a 50MP main and a 12MP telephoto.

As for other hardware specifications, the leakers added that the Mi 11 Pro/Ultra model will feature a 120Hz QHD+ display. Meanwhile, all versions of the phone are said to include a 5,000mAh battery and perhaps 55W fast charging support. At this time, the hardware that has been officially confirmed by Xiaomi is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship chipset.

As usual, whether these unofficial information is accurate or not remains to be seen. Hopefully we’ll be able to find out soon enough once the Xiaomi Mi 11 series is finally unveiled in weeks to come.
