Alleged Intel Core i7-11700 Review Gets Published Ahead Of Launch

Earlier yesterday, we reported on the performance of Intel’s alleged 11th Gen Core i5-11600K appearing on Geekbench. It appears that this may have opened up the floodgates for more Rocket Lake-S lineup leaks; an in-depth video review of the alleged Core i7-11700 seems to have been posted, well ahead of its expected launch date.

The video review was posted on YouTube by Odd Tech Reviewers and just to be clear, the Core i7-11700 is the non-K variant of Intel’s Rocket Lake-S CPU, meaning that it is non-overclockable. Odd Tech Reviewers also says that the 11700 is one of several qualification samples that he received from Intel, so it’s safe to say that the performance listed in their review may vary from the consumer-ready CPU at launch.

Specs-wise, the 11700 appears to be a 65W, 8-core CPU, with a base and boost clock of 2.9GHz and 4.4GHz. That’s reportedly 600MHz lower than the 11700K variant, which also has more than double the TDP at 125W.

Odd Tech Reviewers mentions at the beginning of the video that he cannot reveal the motherboard being used, but Videocardz says that the review seems to be based on a Z590 variant of the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII. Performance-wise, the 11700 seems to be almost on par with AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X, if not lagging behind ever so slightly.
