The glasses’ temple touchpad allows the user to fiddle with the display and launch the Lens Carousel. Pressing the right button activates Scan, which analyses what’s in the field of view and suggests relevant Lenses based on the user’s surroundings.
Pressing the left button captures 10-second Snaps of Lenses overlaid on the world allowing users to send Snaps right from the glasses. There’s also a Voice Scan function that allows users to verbally launch Lenses.
Snapchat said it already has offered the new Spectacles to a chosen group of creators. The company is obviously keen to show off what the glasses are capable of. Maybe one day, they’ll be available for the rest of us.
