Xiaomi Mi 11 Series To Launch On 28 December 2020 In China

Xiaomi has recently confirmed the launch date for its new Mi 11 smartphones in China. The series was rumoured to be the first to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship chipset ahead of other brands and judging by the date provided, this may seem to be the case.

The company made the announced via its official Weibo page earlier today with a promotional image along with the launch date of 28 December 2020. However, in a typical teaser fashion, not much else regarding the phone’s specifications or design is revealed.

That being said, the Xiaomi Mi 11 was allegedly spotted in the wild last week, where several photos have depicted its rear camera array. A triple camera setup housed in a square island was observed on what is believed to be the standard variant of the phone. Sources claim that this version of the phone is equipped with a 50MP main and a 12MP sensor, but its third shooter is unspecified.

Other rumours have suggested that the Pro/Ultra version of the Mi 11 may be equipped with a 108MP main camera, as well as a 120Hz QHD+ display and RAM of up to 12GB. As for battery, it is said that the series will include a 5,000mAh battery with 55W fast charging support.

We will eventually find out whether the rumours regarding the new Xiaomi flagship phones are accurate when they’re launched in China next week. As for the phones’ availability outside of the country, the Mi 11 series may likely see a global release sometime in the first quarter of 2021.
