Nintendo Direct To Showcase 50 Minutes Of New Games For Switch On 18 February

Nintendo announced via its official Twitter account that it will be kicking off its Nintendo Direct livestream on 17 February at 2PM PT, which is 18 February at 6AM for us here in Malaysia. The livestream will run for a period of 50 minutes, in which time the game company will share news on available games, as well as new games for the first half of 2021.

Nintendo’s tweet outrightly names Super Smash Bros Ultimate as one of the available titles that are set to receive an update, but doesn’t say anymore. That said, earlier reports and leaks have given the gaming community a sense of what to expect for the Switch. This includes titles such as Monster Hunter Rise that is arriving next month, as well as Pokemon Snap in April.

Many are also hoping that Nintendo will talk about other titles during the livestream, chief among them being Metroid Prime 4 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2. At the very least, we’re hoping that launch dates for these games will be announced.

Of course, fans are also holding out hope that the event will be the moment that Nintendo pulls back the curtain on the long-rumoured Switch Pro console. As it stands, however, the company continues to vehemently deny the rumour.
