Capcom Pushes Pragmata Back To 2023

Capcom has a brand new IP called Pragmata. And it’s one that remained in the shadows ever since its announcement just before the start of the current console generation. But as with so many other games, it’s getting delayed. But Capcom made the announcement in such an adorable video that you may just be glad that it got delayed, because otherwise this video would not exist.

You can watch the announcement video, if you can call it one, for yourself. It’s a simple one, showing the girl we saw from the initial Pragmata trailer. And the card she is holding basically says all that needs to be said.

But if you rather read than watch, Capcom says on the announcement post that the team working on Pragmata has decided to push the game back to 2023 “to ensure this will be an unforgettable adventure”. Which doesn’t really mean much, since no one besides Capcom knows what kind of adventure it even will be like. But at least the detail on the character model is amazing.

All that being said, this Pragmata delay video does also set up some crazy expectations for Capcom. Even with the amazing RE Engine, and two whole years left to work with, will the full game look this good? Here’s hoping, but if recent releases are telling us anything, it’s probably best to not hold our breaths for it.

WhatsApp Walks Back On Use Restrictions For Those Who Refuse New Privacy Policy

Earlier in the month, WhatsApp detailed its plans on pestering users to accept its new privacy policy. The plan included blocking of functionality should the pestering fail to convince users to do so. Though it looks like the Facebook subsidiary is walking back on its arm twisting methods.

Said plans were previously laid out on a WhatsApp support page. The very same page now says that none of that will be happening. The company will still occasionally remind users that the new privacy policy exists, but they won’t be persistent.

In a statement to TNW, WhatsApp says that it has been discussing with “various authorities and privacy experts” regarding its strongarm tactics. No doubt India’s legal threat against the messaging platform may have something to do with this U-turn. After all, we’re talking about the platform’s largest market. Though only the company and its owner Facebook will know if this is something that will stick, or only a temporary measure to take some heat off of itself.

This ultimately may be a desperate move to retain users. But all that being said, it may be a case of too little, too late. Shortly after the company made the initial privacy policy announcement, a lot of its users began migrating to alternatives like Telegram and Signal.

About 3,000 people with negative Covid test results attended the Liverpool event on Friday, part of the government's pilot on mass events.

The clubbers did not have to wear face coverings or social distance for the first time since lockdown.

"I went in and I was like, oh my goodness, there are people and they're together and they're dancing and they're smiling and this is actually happening," said Jayda.

Liverpool University student Elliott Cause, 20, said: "I feel like this is a big moment for the UK. I feel like university students have been struggling without this. I feel like this will do a lot."

Some clubbers said they had "spent a week" choosing outfits for the event at the Bramley-Moore Dock warehouse.

One clubber told BBC Radio 5 live: "We're just excited - we're all on the verge of tears ready to go in.

"It was like coronavirus never happened. It's given me hope for the future."

Liverpool director of public health Matt Ashton said the club event, which will also run on Saturday, was "crucial" for the local economy.

"In Liverpool, it's over 40% of our economic output. So it's really important we start to get the economy opening again."

He said clubbers who test positive in the next five days would be expected to self-isolate and would be spoken to by contact tracers.

Scientists will use data on crowd movements and air quality to see whether people mixing indoors at mass events will increase coronavirus transmission.

The night was part of the Events Research Programme, which will also see crowds return to the FA Cup final and Sunday's music festival in Liverpool's Sefton Park.

Tesla Is Officially Back In Singapore Once Again; Model 3 Price Starts From SGD 113,000

After a botched attempt to enter the country a few years ago which has led to this tweet by Elon Musk, Tesla has once again brought its electric vehicles (EV) to Singapore. It has joined the likes of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Macau as the official markets for Tesla in Asia.

At this moment, only Model 3 is available for purchase through Tesla Singapore’s official website which apparently takes around 12 to 14 weeks to be delivered. Without a Certificate of Entitlement (COE), the Standard Range Plus model which has a rear-wheel drive motor, 0-100 km/h acceleration rate of 5.6 seconds, 225 km/h top speed, and an estimated range of 448 km is priced from SGD 112,845 (~RM 344,433) onwards.

For the Performance model which has a dual motor and all-wheel drive capability alongside a longer travel range of 567 km, it starts at SGD 154,815 (~RM 472,522). Equipped with 20-inch Uberturbine wheels, lowered suspension, performance brakes, carbon fibre spoiler, aluminium alloy pedals, and access to Track Mode, this particular variant also offers higher top speed at 261 km/h and much faster acceleration rate of 3.3 seconds.

Tesla also provides the self-driving option for the Model 3 although customers need to fork out an additional SGD 11,500 (~RM 35,100) to install the self-driving computer into their car. Once enabled, customers can have their Model 3 change lane and park automatically as well as summon the car to come to them.

While the price tag can be deemed as premium, some have pointed out that the Singaporean pricing for Model 3 is quite competitive. To put things into perspective, here is how much a Toyota Camry costs in Singapore:

Tesla re-entry into the Singaporean market is yet another interesting chapter for the South East Asian’s EV industry. Recently, the Indonesian government has invited Elon Musk to utilise the country’s massive nickel reserve for battery production and the Thai government has also revealed its intention to boost the production of EV over there.

Given that these three countries are our closest neighbours, Malaysia may feel the heat in some way or another. However, we doubt that Tesla is going to set up shop in Malaysia until our government finally makes up its mind and come out with a clear policy for the EV industry.
