Sony Product Registration Documents References New PS5 Model

Earlier in the month we saw reports of the PS5 getting a small hardware redesign. Now, official documents referring to something of that nature have appeared. But these documents note a different change to what we heard before.

Business analyst Roberto Serrano shared on Twitter documents registered by Sony to the Peruvian Audits and Sanctions in Communications site. In the documents, the company mentions a new model name for the PS5, the CFI-1115A. And it will be sporting a new wireless module, the AW-XM501. Overall, this means slightly better WiFi coverage by the console on the 5GHz band, but slightly lower for the 2.4GHz band.

Of course, this is an even smaller change than what we first heard. The report from earlier in the month noted a change in CPU in the PS5 instead. This is not it, and the change in WiFi reception is miniscule, so much so that it may not even be noticeable.

So if you’re waiting for the release of a new PS5 model before buying, this isn’t what you’re waiting for. You’ll probably be better off continuing the hunt for one. It’s either that or waiting for more news on the CPU updated model. But if so, you’ll be waiting for a very long time, as previous reports pegged that model to only enter production next year.

Next AstraZeneca Registration Session Opens On 23 May; Only For Senior Citizens In Selected States

The coordinator of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced that the next registration session for AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine will take place this coming Sunday, 23 May. The registration opening is following the original session that took place earlier this month which involved 268,000 doses for Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

While the vaccine coverage under the upcoming registration session will be expanded to more areas, it will not cover the whole country just yet as some might be hoping for. Instead, the 23 May session will only involve Penang, Johor, and Sarawak in addition to Klang Valley itself due to the high number of daily cases within these regions.

Furthermore, the registration session will only be opened to senior citizens aged 60 years and above. Those who are under the age of 60 will have to wait until 26 May to see if there are any leftovers and only then, will they be allowed to register.

The majority of the new AZ vaccine batch will be reserved for those who registered via the official website of The Special Committee for COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV). The authorities will also allocate some of them to the District Health Offices (PKD) in order for them to administer the vaccine via on-ground outreach programs in selected areas.

Minister Khairy has also said that some of the vaccines will also be delivered to elderly care homes. Aside from senior citizens, another group of people that will be given priority access to the upcoming batch of AZ vaccine are individuals that are still on the Waiting List from the 2 May registration session.

From what we understand, Minister Khairy’s remarks during today’s briefing and subsequent tweet, the appointments for these individuals will be provided to them through the existing method.

Clubhouse For Android Opens Registration Of Interest In Malaysia

The popular Clubhouse app has had an Android version in the works for awhile now. Last week, it started its beta tests for the platform for a limited number of users. Now, the beta test is expanding to more people in the US, and the app is accepting pre-registrations in Malaysia.

In its announcement blog post, the company says that it plans to collect feedback from the community over the next few weeks. Then it will be addressing said feedback, fixing issues and adding features before a broader rollout outside of the US. No date was given as to when this is happening. It could take awhile, considering that in a week the Android version of Clubhouse went from what’s basically a closed beta to an open one for the US only.

Fortunately for everyone outside the States, pre-registration for the Android version of Clubhouse is open. Signing up for this will automatically download the app when it becomes available. That being said, it looks like actually being able to use it still depends on you getting an invite.

And for Android users, this presumably comes from an existing iOS user. This will remain the case as the company slowly scales up the backend of its operations.

JKJAV To Open Another Registration Session For AstraZeneca Vaccine Soon

The Special Committee on the COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) will be announcing another registration session for the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine sometime next week. This was revealed by the coordinator of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), Minister Khairy Jamaluddin via Twitter earlier today.

Minister Khairy also said that the Vaccine Administration Centres (PPV) for the distribution of the AZ vaccine outside of Klang Valley will be announced at the same time as well. However, the exact day and time of the announcement were not revealed through the tweet.

The minister has previously shared that thousands of people have cancelled their vaccine registration in MySejahtera after the government announced that it is about to roll out the AZ vaccine through PICK. Hence, it was then decided that the AZ vaccine be given a separate distribution channel while still being deemed as part of the PICK.

A separate registration process was then opened last Sunday which saw all of the 268,000 available doses to be fully reserved within 3 hours 20 minutes even though there were some hiccups during the early portion of the registration session. The subsequent distribution of the AZ vaccine took place yesterday and will last until early June.

JKJAV’s AstraZeneca Vaccine Registration Day: What An Unpleasant Experience

It has been widely reported that AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine may cause blood clots and low level of blood platelets as side effects although the European Medicines Agency and World Health Organization have deemed that the number of such cases is still relatively. Hence, both health authorities have decided that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh its risks.

The Malaysian government is confident of its safety as well but nevertheless, has decided to distribute the AZ vaccine through a separate channel after members of the public have expressed their nervousness about its usage for the National COVID-19 Immunization Programme (NCIP). For that purpose, the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) has opened up the registration earlier today at 12:00 PM for Selangor and Kuala Lumpur residents through its website.

Since the COVID-19 vaccine’s supply for Malaysia is expected to pick up only in June, the AZ vaccine rollout is generally the only chance for the mass public to get vaccinated much sooner. So, it goes without saying that many Malaysians are still interested to obtain the vaccine.

With only 268,000 doses available up for grabs at the moment, things were expectedly to be frantic. Well, in many ways, that exactly what happened a few hours ago.

For starters, there were reports that some managed to secure their AZ vaccine appointments as early as 11 AM. However, it turned out the site was still on pre-live staging mode and the coordinator of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, Ministry Khairy Jamaluddin has to step in to make some clarification.

Despite the assurance above though, the actual site still went live a few minutes before 12:00 PM. Those who managed to catch the timing had a fairly smooth experience but for the rest of the crow who went in right at noon time as instructed by JKJAV, things went down the drain fairly quickly.

By 12:01 PM, all of the four designated Vaccine Administration Centres (VAC) alongside their appointment dates have disappeared from the site; as if all of the 268,000 vaccines have been fully reserved. Around 15 minutes (actual time varies) later, they reappeared again but another problem immediately sets in.

Despite finally being able to pick their venue and date, many found themselves not able to submit their selection. There was no sign or notification at all that indicates the site is actually processing users’ request and once again, it looked like a dead end.

Naturally, plenty of users then resorted to refresh the site over and over again in order to secure their appointment slot with many have to select random dates and venues just to see which one would eventually go through. The actual time varies from user to user but there are many out there who have to spend more than 20 minutes to register themselves for the vaccine.

Things appeared to be much smoother later on and eventually, all of the 268,000 slots were fully reserved after 3 hours 19 minutes since the registration officially started. Subsequently, the registration for the waiting list also closed a few hours later and Ministry Khairy has said that the next shipment of the AZ vaccine which is going to take place later this month will be prioritized for those who are on the list.

To its credit though, JKJAV’s website somehow managed to stay online despite the obvious surge of traffic. Additionally, the simplistic user interface and straightforward process helped as well.

So, it is rather unfortunate that the actual registration process turned out to be an unpleasant experience as you have to refresh the site so many times just to get your appointment to be accepted by the unresponsive backend system. This is while battling the panic that may have set in after realizing that the chance to get vaccinated within the next few weeks could be slipping away from your hands.

Registration For COVID-19 Vaccine In Malaysia To Begin This March

The Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin who is also the coordinator of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program has said that the government is planning to open up the registration for the vaccine sometime in March. The confirmation took place during an interview with Bernama TV last night.

The minister pointed out that this starting date is meant for low-risk individuals. Based on this, we believe that he is referring to those that will be vaccinated under Phase 3 of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program which will start in May 2021 as per what Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has announced before.

Minister Khairy didn’t provide specific information regarding the registration timeline for high-risk individuals and the elderly that will be vaccinated in Phase 2 of the program. However, it seemed rather possible that the registration could be opened within the same period since this particular phase will begin in April.

In the same interview, Minister Khairy has once again insisted that the best registration method is through the MySejahtera app. However, other registration methods will also be made available to those who are not using the national contact tracing app.

One of them is through the official website of the Special Committee on COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) which will be launched by PM Muhyiddin next week. Members of the public can also register themselves through a dedicated hotline that will be opened soon.

Other than that, manual registration will also be provided at public and private clinics as well as hospitals. The minister also stated that federal, state, and local government agencies will also launch on-ground operations to register those who reside in rural areas.
