Govt To Implement Nationwide Ban On Interstate and Inter-District Movements From 10 May Onwards

Aside from having premises that are listed by the HIDE system to be closed immediately, the government has also decided to ban all interstate and inter-district movements throughout the country. The decision was announced by Senior Minister for Defence, Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier today.

The new directive will be enforced throughout the country starting from this coming Monday, 10 May 2021 and will last for the next four weeks until Sunday, 6 June 2021. This is regardless of whether the area is within the Movement Control Order (MCO), Enhanced MCO (EMCO), Conditional MCO (CMCO), or Recovery MCO (RMCO) zones.

An exception will only be given to those that have received approvals from the police. However, the minister didn’t provide any details regarding activities that can be greenlighted by the police.

That being said, Minister Ismail did say that all social, education, and economic activities that can cause mass gatherings or public congestions will be prohibited starting from this Monday as well. The same restriction also applies to all official and social events as well as face-to-face activities within the government and private sector.

Even though these restrictions will last until early June, they will be reviewed again by the authorities after two weeks according to the minister. Given that there are so many things that are still very unclear about the new directive, we expect further clarifications to be announced tomorrow. So, stay tuned.

Sony Will Cease PlayStation Store Service For PS3, PSP And PS Vita From July Onwards

Sony has quietly confirmed that it will be ceasing the PlayStation Network (PSN) Store service for its older video game consoles later this year. According to the company’s recently updated PlayStation support page, it is revealed that the service is slated to shut down on the PS3 and PSP on 2 July, while the PS Vita will lose access to it much later on 27 August.

What this means is that users will no longer be able to purchase any new content for the aforementioned PlayStation consoles once the PSN Store service officially ends. Sony added that wallet vouchers will no longer be applicable to the PS3, PSP and PS Vita around that time as well. Naturally, since the service is universal to PlayStation’s ecosystem, any remaining balance in your PSN wallet can still be used to purchase digital content for other platforms such as the PS4 or PS5 – provided that you own these consoles.

Fortunately, all is not lost for those who still game on the older generation Sony platforms. According to the company, any existing content such as games or media in a player’s library will still be retained and can be redownloaded at any time, even after the closure of the PSN Store. In addition, users may also still be able to redeem non-wallet vouchers on these consoles, such as PS Plus subscriptions and codes for claiming digital versions of certain video game titles.

The closure of the PSN Store will certainly cause inconveniences to fans of retro gaming (yes, these consoles are considered retro now), especially for acquiring console-exclusive titles such as Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3 and even Patapon for the PSP. Even though there is still a chance that used (or new, in some rare cases) copies of these games may still be available for sale, the most sure shot way of having them in your gaming library is by buying them digitally.

Purchasing these games digitally via PSN Store also guarantees that you’ll be able to nab them at a recommended retail price, therefore saving you the trouble of potentially sifting through physical copies sold by scalpers at unbelievable prices. That being said, the time is right if you are planning to fill up your library with these games, as you won’t be able to do so once Sony ceases its Store service for its aging consoles this summer.

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3060 Graphics Cards Land In Malaysia: Available From RM 2089 Onwards

Just as NVIDIA announced the official release of its new GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, several manufacturers have also revealed their RTX 3060 lineup for Malaysia. Among them is GIGABYTE who have planned five models for our market.

Leading the list is the AORUS GeForce RTX 3060 Elite which carries a slightly overlocked GPU at 1867MHz as compared to the stock chip which runs at 1777Mhz. The company has also equipped the card with its signature Windforce 3X cooling solution that comes with three 80mm fans that spin alternately and are being lubricated by “graphene nano lubricant”.

The solution also features five composite copper heat pipes that have direct contact with the graphics card’s GPU and also helped cool down its RAM. GIGABYTE has also installed customisable RGB Fusion 2.0 lights on all three fans.

Variations of the company’s Windforce 3X cooling solution have also been installed on its other RTX 3060 cards. Among them is the GeForce RTX 3060 Vision OC and GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming OC which are also running at a slightly higher clock speed of 1837MHz although they aren’t as fast as the RTX 3060 Elite and these cards also have less composite copper heat pipes in them at just three pipes.

Not to forget, GIGABYTE has also included the GeForce RTX 3060 Eagle in its release list for Malaysia. Equipped with a Windforce 2X cooling system, the solution may feature fewer fans than the Windforce 3X but they are larger in size at 100mm and also features four composite copper heat pipes.

Being the most affordable card in the list at RM 2,089, the RTX 3060 Eagle understandably runs at the standard 1777MHz clock speed although one can choose the OC version of the card that is clocked slightly higher at 1807MHz for RM 2,199. As for the higher-end models that we mentioned earlier, the AORUS RTX 3060 Elite goes for RM 2,569 while RTX 3060 Vision OC and Gaming OC are priced at RM 2,399 and RM 2,339, respectively.

As you might have heard, the graphics card is currently facing a stock shortage issue throughout the world which means that it may not be easy to find these new GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3060 cards at a retail store. So, do check with your favourite retailer for further details.
