realme Buds Air 2 with ANC Coming To Malaysia This April For RM 199

realme has recently announced its plan to launch the new Buds Air 2 in Malaysia next month. Based on the specs stated on realme Malaysia’s website, the new true wireless earbuds (TWEs) seemed to offer plenty of upgrades over their predecessor while being made available at a much lower price point.

In many ways, the Buds Air 2 seemed to carry on the torch from the Buds Air Pro rather than the original Buds Air. Powered by the brand-new R2 chip, the second generation model adopts the in-ear design and also features active noise cancellation (ANC) although at up to 25db, the effective range is not as high as the Buds Air Pro that can go up to 35db.

Equipped with a pair of 10mm drivers which realme claimed have been covered with carbon coating to make them more durable, the Buds Air 2 also features a mode called Bass Boost+ that apparently was co-created by the well-known EDM duo, The Chainsmokers. The new TWEs have also been designed to meet the IPX5 standard which means that they should be able to withstand sweats during your workout.

In terms of battery life, the TWEs can run for up to 4 to 5 hours depending on whether the ANC is on or off while the total operational hours can go up to 25 hours when you add Buds Air 2’s charging case into the picture. There is also a fast charge feature that allows users to obtain 2 hours of playback with 10 minutes of charging time.

Price-wise, the new realme Buds Air 2 goes for RM 199 when it is made available in our shores at realme Brand Store and authorised dealers nationwide on 3 April 2021. For those who prefer to purchase the TWEs online, they can do so starting from 8 April via realme’s official store at Lazada.

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX Is A Pair Of Wireless Headphones With ANC

Danish brand Bang & Olufsen has announced its new Beoplay HX wireless headset. It boasts most of the bells and whistles you’d expect from an upmarket pair of headphones. But beyond all that, it has a pretty impressive battery life.

Bang & Olufsen claims that the Beoplay HX can last for 35 hours with ANC turned on, and 40 hours without. Which is pretty impressive, to say the least. And when it runs out, you charge it with a USB-C cable. The wireless connection is done over Bluetooth 5.1 with support for aptX Adaptive, AAC and SBC codecs. But when you prefer a more conventional connection, it not only has a 3.5mm audio jack, but also a cable that comes in the box.

Beyond features, it’s probably safe to expect better-than-average build quality from the Beoplay HX. The ear pads have lambskin over the memory foam inside. And the headband uses cow hide instead. Which, if genuine, sounds so much better than all the faux leather in the market currently. The rest of the headphones use aluminium, with a bit of recycled plastic here and there.

Naturally, something from the Danish brand wouldn’t come cheap. The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX is priced at US$499 (~RM2069). Right now, it remains to be seen if these headphones will be making their way to our shores.

Huawei FreeBuds 4i with ANC To Be Available In Malaysia For As Low As RM 319

It seems that many brands believe that this week is a good time to introduce new products into our market including Huawei. The company has revealed that its brand new true wireless earbuds (TWEs), the FreeBuds 4i will be available in Malaysia this coming Saturday, 27 March.

At a glance, the FreeBuds 4i carries a brand-new physical design for its charging case which now looked much closer to its higher-end sibling, the FreeBuds Pro. Huawei claimed that the case would enable up to 22 hours of total playback time while on their own, the earbuds can deliver up to 10 hours although this is with the active noise cancellation (ANC) off.

The FreeBuds 4i also comes with a quick charge feature that enables its earbuds to obtain 4 hours of playback time with just 10 minutes of charging time. As per many TWEs with ANC on the market right now, the new model from Huawei also features the Awareness mode that allows users to hear their surroundings.

In terms of internal components, Huawei said that each earbud is equipped with a 10mm dynamic coil driver that also has a polymer composite diaphragm, alongside two MEMS microphones with beamforming and AI noise reduction technology. At the same time, both earbuds also come with capacitive touch sensors that users can use to control playback, phone calls, and ANC/Awareness modes.

Price-wise, the Freebuds 4i goes for RM 379 although you can obtain it at RM 319 as Huawei is now giving out RM 60 discount voucher specifically for the new TWEs on its online store. However, do note that you need to grab and utilize the voucher by 31 March.
