Gatita Yan Allegedly Gets Invited To DJ at Jackson Wang’s Party, Later Rejects to Keep BF Happy

By now, most Malaysians are familiar with this Insta famous influencer/YouTuber Gatita Yan. Not long ago, she announced that just like Ms. Pui Yi, she will also start a new career path which is being a DJ.

Just yesterday, Gatita announced on her Instagram story that she will be attending Jackson Wang’s after party at a club in Solaris. In her story, she mentioned that she was “invited” to be the DJ for his after party.

“I’ve been practicing for so long. I’ve never practiced this long for a show before, I’m so grateful that I was invited to be a part of Jackson Wang’s after party DJ. I have so much gratitude”, she said.

Hours after she posted the story, she then posted another story saying that she’s getting a lot of hate for the announcement she made.

“Since there are so many people who have been commenting on this issue and making it a big deal, the hate has spread to the point where even my Middle Eastern boyfriend has heard about it”, she added.

She then revealed that her Middle Eastern boyfriend is not in the entertainment/media industry and couldn’t stand the fact that she is receiving this much hate and backlash from netizens.

She then ended her Instagram story saying,

“I don’t want my boyfriend to be upset over this matter and I’ve decided to cancel the DJ show.”

Following that, many netizens were quick to call her out and speculated that this was all a “one-woman show”.

“It’s so sad to see you become someone so desperate and sad. There’s nothing real about you or this matter.”

“She’s so good at putting up a show.”

“I believe a lot of DJs out there are treating as a joke and laughing about it.”

What do you think of this issue? Let us know in the comments below.

Steam Hinted To Port Games Over To Consoles Later This Year

There’s a chance that Steam, Valve’s popular digital storefront on PC, might be porting its exclusives to video game consoles later in 2021. This was hinted, albeit vaguely, by none other than the company’s president Gabe Newell a few days back during a talk at Sancta Maria College in Auckland, New Zealand.

“You will have a better idea of that by the end of this year,” Newell replied when asked by a student if Steam would be porting games to consoles. Seeing that the PlayStation 4 being the only console to feature virtual reality capabilities via its PSVR peripheral, it could be possible for Valve to port Half-Life: Alyx over to it. That, or to the PS5 since Sony had recently teased the next iteration of its virtual reality system for the new console.

It’s also worth noting that earlier in January, Newell revealed that several newer games are currently being worked on by his company. Although no further details were shared in regards to this, he did mention that Valve will announce them eventually. That being said, Newell’s response to the student’s question could be referring to these upcoming yet unannounced games, which may see a multi-platform release.

There’s also a long-shot speculation from others who believe that Valve might also bring its Steam digital storefront to consoles. However, such a move is quite unlikely and wouldn’t make sense as video game consoles feature their own closed stores such as Nintendo sShop, PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store on Xbox consoles.

Regardless, we’ll only find out what Valve actually has in store for home video game consoles in late 2021.

Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar Outlets To Receive More Robot Waiters Later This Month

In a move to reduce physical contact during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, popular local franchise Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar has introduced robot waiters to help serve its customers. According to the restaurant’s owner and managing director Burhan Mohamed, the robots have been deployed at its SS2 and Citta Mall outlets, with more expected in the near future.

The robot waiter originally debuted at Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar’s Citta Mall restaurant earlier in March, he added. Due to positive reception from customers, the franchise had decided to order four more units – each costing around RM 43,000 per unit – from Secure Robotics which are expected to arrive in the middle of April this year. Burhan noted that the machines will not be used during peak hours as they could get in the way of customers and human waiters.

Based on the video uploaded on its official Facebook page, the franchise is utilising the popular PuduBot indoor delivery robot by Shenzhen-based Pudu Robotics, which is locally distributed by Secure Robotics. It is equipped with various advanced tech such as LIDAR and 3D vision sensors to help with positioning and obstacle avoidance. “PuduBot is a clever humanoid robot designed for restaurants, saving labor and increasing your efficiency,” wrote Secure Robotics on their official Facebook page.

On top of being programmable for table-to-table deliveries, the machine comes with a middle compartment for transporting large items and can also be customised to feature multiple levels of serving trays. The top portion of the robot is equipped with an LCD screen that displays different facial expressions, granting it a friendly personality.

If the Pudubot looks familiar, it is because the same model has been deployed by different restaurants in Malaysia as well. These include the KyoChon outlet at The Gardens Mall, JBorn Cafe & Bistro in Johor Bahru, Ah Kor Kopitiam in Melaka, and many others.

For your reference, the first ever Malaysian eatery to feature robot waiters belongs to CH Premier Restaurant in Kuching, Sarawak. Along with its initial opening back in October 2016, the premise debuted four robot waiters imported from Kunshan, China. These consisted of three Goddess models and one smaller robot known as Lolita, which are still in service to this day.

Intel To Kick Off Scavenger Hunt for Xe HPG Graphics Later This Week

On the surface, the teaser 33-second clip looks unassuming and simply looks like very much like a visual effects artist’s impression of the Xe-LP GPU, that then gets hit by a beam of light and transforms it into the Xe-HPG GPU. Of course, thanks to some eagle-eyed sleuths on the internet, it’s become clear that there is more to the clip’s theatrical display.

If you paused the clip around the 17 and 18-second mark, you’ll see the code “79.0731W” appear at the bottom-right corner of the base of the chip’s platform. Then, at the 22-second mark, the video shows four lines of binary code.

As it stands, the first line of code has yet to be deciphered, but speculation suggests that the last two digits are the number of weeks left until the Xe-HPG’s launch, meaning that we could be looking at a November launch.

As for the four lines of code, those have already been cracked, thanks to one internet user who goes by the name “duckofdeath”. Each line of code was apparently a binary number and when strung together, they produce an IP address: 35.160.237.208. Copy that address into your search bar, and you’re immediately transported to the Intel Xe-HPG Scavenger Hunt page.

Sadly, the buck temporarily stops there for the moment, with the message that the event kicks off on 26 March and we need to come back with the “secret code”. At the time of writing, there doesn’t seem to be any more clues from the current teaser but having said that, if this truly is a scavenger hunt, then it’s possible Intel will release another teaser clip between now and the kick-off date.

AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Reportedly Set To Debut Later This Year

AMD’s RDNA2 GPU architecture has been around for exactly half a year now, with its Radeon RX 6000 series lineup very recently welcoming the RX 6700XT to the fold. But for all its real-tracing capabilities, its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) supersampling technology – basically, AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s DLSS – is still nowhere to be seen.

Well, it seems that we not have to wait much longer, if the words of Scott Herkelman, vice president of AMD’s Graphics Business Unit, are to be believed. During an interview with PC World, Herkelman said that internal development of FSR is progressing very well and that he and his team were currently evaluating its upscaling algorithm. More to the point, Herkelman also hints at the possibility that FSR should be out and about for Radeon enthusiasts by this year. Although, when exactly was left ambiguous.

Real-time ray-tracing first came on to the scene when NVIDIA introduced RTX with its Turing GPU architecture back in 2018. While it makes games that support the feature look far prettier visually, it still puts a considerable amount of strain on the graphics card. In order to alleviate this, the GPU maker launched its Deep Learning Super Sampling, or DLSS, along with RTX. For the uninitiated, DLSS is an anti-aliasing technology that utilises NVIDIA’s Deep Neural Network (DNN), which upscales games from lower to higher resolutions. All while preserving details that would normally appear in the latter with the help of AI.

As we said at the start of this article, AMD finally jumped on to the ray-tracing bandwagon with its Radeon RX 6000 series, but unlike NVIDIA, the feature was not escorted with its own upscaling technology at the time.

One other interesting point Herkelman made during the virtual meeting was that, unlike NVIDIA’s Turing and Ampere cards, AMD’s FSR would necessarily be based on machine learning. In other words, FSR has the potential of working with 1st generation RDNA cards, as well as RDNA2 cards. To that end, we’ll just have to wait until we get to test out the feature.
